Born in Liverpool, UK.
Following a trip round the world, I enjoyed:
6 years in London as a session musician (for Steve Levine and others), as a musical director (Patti Boulaye and others) and as a talent scout (for Malcolm McLaren); I worked on the Bow Wow Wow project and discovered Annabella!
21 years in Oslo as a: broadcaster (NRK and Radio 1 for 15 years); national daily newspaper columnist (Klassekampen for 3 years); producer of radio commercials and jingles (own studio for 5 years); Promotion Manger (PolyGram Records for 2 years) and musician (tours, concerts, studio sessions).
I was also employed as a producer and copywriter for the international advertising agency Young & Rubicam and worked as a freelancer for other agencies. I wrote the payoff line for a television/cinema advert which won a gold Clio in New York, 1993).
During my time in Norway I interviewed the then Secretary General of the United Nations (Boutros Boutros-Ghali, in New York, 1995) and several Norwegian Prime Ministers. Kjell Magne Bondevik came to my studio to record his party political campaign.
On my return to Liverpool in 2003, I established Liverpool Jazz Club, took a business management diploma (NVQ level 4), a teaching certificate (TEFL) and was granted a personal license from Liverpool City Council which permits me to supply and retail alcohol and oversee public entertainment till the early hours!
I'm currently doing lots of voice-over work for customers in Scandinavia. I voice for film, commercials, online learning facilities and radio.
Although Liverpool is European Capital of Culture 2008, there isn't much jazz in town, so I don't get to play so much these days.
I built this website myself – hope you enjoy the various bits and pieces - and if I might be of help or service, please – get in touch!
